Finished Friday

Busy week, washing and putting away the gazebo covers for Winter and a general tidy up for the garden, can’t quite bring myself to cut back anything still flowering and the first rose we planted here back in 2021 still has nine unopened buds so I don’t think it can quite believe we are heading to November either lol! I have been less busy on the crafting front but as it was so rainy later in the week I decided to get my inks and stamps out, I wasn’t sure whether I would make anything that would turn into a project so just used some book pages. I was mostly playing with very autumnal shades but then I experimented with some more subtle pinks and purples with an undertone on ochre which I rather liked.

So earlier today I sat down in a cosy corner and turned the stamped images into some very rustic/ shabby / grungy cards. It took me most of the day, lots of it spent searching my stash for cardstock, sentiment stamps and where on earth had I put my stencilling brushes!

Whilst a complete stamp addict, happy to stamp on pretty much any project, I only ever really made cards as samples for workshops or display boards or to use up demo pieces from events, so not very taken with them but I did love playing with my much loved Distress Inks and Penny Black Stamps, and a nice reminder of many happy days demoing these stamps and meeting so many of you at events up and down the country.

I ended up liking the final two cards so not a completely wasted day, and whilst I am planning a couple of scrapbook layouts next, if you would like to see how I created these images, pop back here on Monday when I will post all the details and the links to a short video with step by step guidance on how to easily blend inks on your stamp to create this painterly effect. All of the image stamps are Slapstick clings by Penny Black which are in the online store over at snazzysstudio.online , and the sentiments are by Heffy Doodle which I will be adding this weekend. Have a lovely weekend whatever you are planning x
