January Layout Roundup

After scrapbooking fairly regularly last summer and autumn I had lost my mojo for any kind of crafting over the last few months so in January I made the decision to get myself back to both Stratton Scrappers, my local crop, and Crop, Paper, Scissors a little further afield just outside Whitney. By the time the Stratton crop was upon me I was recovered from the lurgy which had plagued me since late November, but had nothing prepped so, with little hope of actually creating anything I threw a few bits in the car, and expected to have a nice day drinking tea and chatting. And I did, but I also completely finished three layouts, helped by a box of stock I had in the back of the car.

The photos in the first two layouts are from the same day out but I didn’t set out to make a double layout even though I used the same title for each, from just one pass through the big shot using a favourite Pinkfresh Studio alpha die, and I still have the individual letters left to use another day!

All three of these layouts were made using Hike More papers and embellishments by 49&market even though the season and the feel of the third layout is very different to the first two.

Come the week of Crop, Paper, Scissors I got cold feet about the drive to Whitney and didn’t go, but decided I would try to get some scrapbooking done anyway. I had some older photos, brim full of precious very wintry memories which I had printed off a long time ago, so I decided to scrap them using some very geometric papers from an older American Crafts/Pink Paislee collection by Paige Evans called Bloom Street, which I think was actually a summer collection!

With these pages I did set out to make a double layout as the photos follow a very well worn path we used to walk almost daily way back when, but I didn’t want to make them identical so just switched the base layers around. By using different size photos throughout each page keeps it’s individuality but they are also clearly meant to be displayed together. What do you think?

Not a very productive month but I am pleased with the layouts I made and will try harder in February x
