WIP Wednesday

Hello Friends, my first WIP Wednesday post in forever. It’s not I haven’t made anything I just haven’t gotten around to sharing any projects, mainly layouts. So if you would like to see them then perhaps I could batch them up and share them on short videos or reels or something? Is that something you would be interested in? Let me know in the comments as I am trying to work out what sort of content people would prefer. On with the WIP…

Slow week with the long Bank Holiday weekend and all the checking back in of the stock I took to Lincoln and the ordering of new lines for Maidstone early next month. A quiet afternoon with my scrapbook stash working on an idea I had last week but indecision had held me up - do I think a quartered or a linear design would work for my photos? The idea behind this one was yet more using up of stuff I already have, this time bits I had fussy cut and scraps from the P13 Spring collection from a few years back, no full sheets of patterned paper left so just plain cardstock for a base which is very unusual for me.

First, a good sort out as it turned out my stash bag actually had ‘the bits’ of two P13 collections so filtered the Spring one by size and colour. Printed the photos and gutted and trimmed the base layers. Picked out an old favourite stencil, #80 from Aall&Create, and three Distress Oxide colours for my background and added just a few patches of colour, no skill required.

Time to layer up the photos and add ‘the bits’. All I have used are some fussy cut tags and a couple of the 3’’ x 4’’ index cards from the collection to layer my photos. I didn’t have a piece of lilac paper left big enough to layer the second photo but had a 1’’x 12’’ strip so just used that. Amazing how little stash you need to make something work!

I decided to add some stamping in the Oxide colours and Verdafine Clair Morning Mist, then had to put it aside as I have gone from being happy with progress to thinking ‘what have I done?’ Does this happen to you? Let me know what you think in the comments and pop back Friday to see what I decide.

I think this stash bag is killed in terms of scrapping but I will probably try to get a couple of cards from what is left before consigning the remainder to the recycling bin. Meantime I have a baby album to create, picked the papers weeks ago and I am now up against the wire, typical of my ‘tail end Annie’ approach lol!
